Golf is a great game of skill, perseverence and more importantly is great fun. It is a personal competition to try to better your previous score or compete with others. Going round in a group is a great day out as you get to know people better, and can laugh and cry together depending on how that little white ball flies. And don't forget, in case of airswings and poor shots, the ball and/or golf club can't defend itself so feel free to blame the equipment.

As this picture is copyrighted ,I did not transfer the picture itself. Playing a round on a fine sunny day is great. If only the boss could see that it is a better option than work, but she just won't agree.

Using blogs to share pictures are a great way to share concepts that are hard to describe and could be of great benefit in sharing professional information. Afterall, a picture says a thousand words.

Getting started

I am about to launch into a new world. I only use computers for the basic functions, and more traditional methods to keep up with people. While this serves my needs, it does not allow me to help library users who are having problems. Also, there is the case of the grandmother who has been given a blog address from her grandaughter overseas, and she has no idea what to do. I hope this course will increase my awareness and confidence in what computers can offer so as to better advise our clients.

Blogs could be a great tool to communicate with library users. It could be a useful tool for comments, suggestions for purchase, book reviews, and any other way we wish to interact with others. Interlibrary communication of holiday programmes, ways with dealing with problem children, innovative ideas and library world gossip could also be carried out. Young people particularly are fascinated and comfortable with computers. They will write an email, but would not consider writing a letter by hand. Thus, to reach that target audience, to get there thoughts and ideas, using blogs and other tools are ideal.

This course gives an opportunity to use such tools for someone like myself who otherwise has no need for them. Once I learn how they work this could change of course. It can only be of benefit, there are no drawbacks in learning something new and expanding horizons.
